At Rue, we’re exposed to many unique online shops and brands. However, none have stood out to us quite like Tictail. Upon introduction, it quickly became one of our favorite online marketplaces for emerging brands and makers. And as far as we’re concerned, it is the place to find cooler-than-cool products for your home and closet.

Today, Carl Waldekranz — co-founder and CEO — is spilling the details on his favorite Tictail products for spring. (And no one knows the Tictail inventory quite like Carl!) From scarves that double as wallhangings to bags that work overtime for your wardrobe, there’s something for everyone:

1. “Centinelle silk scarves stand out because of their playful patterns and one-of-a-kind designs. Cristina Guizar’s illustrated scarves swirl fiction and fantasy, memory and myth. I happen to use this scarf as a wall hanging, it adds great color and intrigue to any room.”

2. “ruhling // woven is such a rad brand, using texture in wall hangings to give bare walls a boost. All of their pieces are hand woven from multicolored fibers. I love the designer’s eye for color and against the grain use of texture and layering to create a fun wall accessory.”

3. “A Bukvy bag is the ultimate carryall. I am so in awe of these Swedish designers, Joanna Bark and Elena Ekström, who have created this 5-in-1 stunning suede bag in elegant, rich colors. My girlfriend likes transitioning from using the bag as a backpack during her morning commute, to a purse throughout the day, and into a clutch at night.”

4. “You can’t go wrong with a piece of art from Sandy Van Helden. She’s an incredibly talented Dutch artist, with a background in both illustration and pattern design. Sandy infuses her love for fashion in her art portraits – all of which spotlight figures packed with personality and attitude.”

5. “By Mutti was the first brand on Tictail. The designer also happens to be my mother. I’m clearly biased, but I love my mom’s work. She is able to approach traditional Chinese porcelain with a twist: using Americana-style tattoos printed on the ceramic ware. Her work makes any table setting pop.”

6. “Simon Key Bertman has this incredible curiosity in converging math with design. He will generate a pattern based on the nutritional values of a specific type of food, for example, and use different colors woven together to represent the percentage breakdown of the food’s nutritional content. I have his throw and cushion set on my couch in my apartment – I absolutely love them!”

7. “Malin Henningsson’s jewelry is both tasteful and bold. She pairs brass with super unique stones to make sophisticated pieces unlike anything you’ve ever seen before.”

8. “TID Watches are top notch. Sleek, clean, classy – perfect give for a friend or a special treat for yourself. I love mine, it is always a conversation topic and I get so many compliments on it!”
