The Details: Furniture Makeovers by Barb Blair. Photography by J. Aaron Greene. Foreword by Holly Becker. (Chronicle Books, 2013.)

What You’ll Find: Instructions on everything from sanding to staining, an extensive list of the best tools and products, and incredible before and afters that will have you wanting to re-do basically everything you own.

Why We Love It: Barb Blair is the creative genius behind Knack, a furniture transformation and design studio. We’ve been following her projects for years- she has a strong sense of color and design combinations. Needless to say, when we heard news of a book- we were thrilled! Furniture Makeovers is bursting at the seams with information and overflowing with inspiration. Barb teaches you where to find old furniture and what to look for, what products you need for a successful project, and guides you every step of the way. Turns out, tasks like sanding, spray painting, applying wallpaper, dip-dying, and stenciling are easier than you might think. Truth be told, this is one of the more innovative books we’ve seen in awhile and we couldn’t recommend it more!
