We’ve long loved the work of event planner, Heather Lowenthal. The founder of Palm Beach’s Posh Parties has been featured here before — who could forget this elegant rehearsal dinner? We wanted a chance to show you more of her portfolio AND find out how she got to where she is today, so Heather graciously joined our #5MinutesWith club. Read on to learn how she got started, how she defines success, and where she’ll be in 5 years time:

MY LIGHTBULB MOMENT:
The very first wedding I did in 2006 I did for free. I wanted to get my feet wet and see if this was going to be a career path I liked. At the end of that wedding I remember saying to myself – wow that didn’t seem like work at all! And here I am eleven years later still doing what I love and what I have a passion for. I have built a wonderful reputation for my company and have a solid team of amazing people who help us execute these fairytale weddings everyday.

I CAN’T START MY DAY UNTIL:
I get my daughters ready for school and go to my workout class.

SUCCESS IS:
Waking up every day, being thankful for everything you have. I don’t believe success is measured in things — it’s measured in happiness and appreciating life’s adventure. And getting those thank you notes from my brides after weddings, well, that’s success too!

YOU’LL NEVER SEE ME WITHOUT:
My phone – I hate to say it but it’s the one thing I can’t live without. It’s my pocket computer, most used form of communication, and the camera allows me to capture daily moments whether it’s work or family related!

MY DREAM COLLABORATION:
My dream collaboration would be with Darcy Miller of Martha Stewart Weddings on a fun wedding or party. I have always admired her talent, sprit, and creativity!

THE ONLY PLACE BETTER THAN PALM BEACH:
Hmmm… that’s a hard one because Palm Beach is pretty spectacular. Second to Palm Beach for me are New York and LA or any vacation I can take with my husband and daughters.

WHEN I FEEL UNINSPIRED:
I like to shop, read magazines, go for a walk at the beach, or just take a few minutes to breathe. Sometimes a small escape from reality will get you right back on track to be inspired.

ADVICE I WISH I HAD 5 YEARS AGO:
Don’t sweat the small stuff.

IN 5 YEARS FIND ME:
Still doing what I am doing. I spent years to get my business to where it is today and feel so thankful for it every day. I hope I can continue to thrive and make our bride & groom’s wedding dreams come true!

ABOVE ALL ELSE:
Family first, and always make the most of each and every day.
