For New Yorker Jessica Boskoff, an eye for style and attention to detail would ultimately drive her to her current career- event planning + design. The founder of Twenty Three Layers — an event planning, production + design firm — has been creating unforgettable experiences for private clients, top brands, and leading companies for over 10 years. In addition to events, the trendsetter also shares her talent through workshops and styled shoots with notable retailers like Anthropologie, West Elm, and Minted. A girl who isn’t afraid to share her success? We love that! Read on to find out a bit more about Jessica, including her morning routine and her ultimate inspiration:

MY LIGHTBULB MOMENT:
I was 23, sitting at my desk working for a media agency. I wanted to do more than what I was doing. I was young, hungry and curious. So I made the decision to leave. I took a non-paid internship in the world of hospitality + events, worked 20 hour days, and loved every second of it! It challenged me in ways I never thought anything could. It was the beginning of my amazing journey…

I CAN’T START MY DAY UNTIL:
I have my coffee and kiss my boys. In that order.

SUCCESS IS:
Being able to make mistakes, and actually learning from them. To learn something new, everyday. Pushing yourself outside your comfort zone and taking challenges head on (even if its terrifying). And if you fail, you pick yourself up and try again. That’s what it is to be an entrepreneur.

YOU’LL NEVER SEE ME WITHOUT:
A tape measure and a tube of lipstick!

MY DREAM COLLABORATION:
Great question. I think about this quite often! Id love to be a contributor for publications like Real Simple, House Beautiful, Better Homes & Gardens, and Martha Stewart Living. I have a passion for entertaining, sharing party tips, designing tablescapes + styling shoots. I think I’d fit right in!

THE ONLY PLACE BETTER THAN NYC:
Not sure there really is a better place, especially if you’re asking a New Yorker! But I do have a love for Florence. St John and Mexico rank up high on the list as well!

WHEN I FEEL UNINSPIRED:
I go to my local floral shop or flip through fabric samples. I re-design a room in my home and work on a DIY project. It helps kick start creativity because I’m in my happy place!

ADVICE I WISH I HAD 5 YEARS AGO:
Embrace the journey! Often times, when working towards a goal we are in such a rush to get there that we forget about the path we are creating. Basically, stop and smell the ranunculus!

IN 5 YEARS FIND ME:
Somewhere on a beach, sipping a spicy margarita + eating a taco. Writing a book on entertaining and party ideas, filled with lots of beautiful photos from past events and styled shoots…

ABOVE ALL ELSE:
Stay inspired. Invest in yourself. And do what makes you happy.
