This week, waves were made in the social media realm. Instagram announced the addition of video, allowing users to make their photos move! Positives include being able to apply filters, choosing the cover photo, and share on other social media channels. We have yet to test it out on our own, but are interested to see how it does. In our opinion- it may be nice to have two different feeds (one for photos, one for videos), as you don’t always want to see (or hear!) videos. We’d love to know what you think- are you a fan of the new feature or not thrilled with the change?

Did you know our Art Director, Maia McDonald, is the voice & vision behind the gorgeous blog Design Conundrum?? This week, she shared her favorite Etsy products- and as usual, her selection does not disappoint. We just placed an order for the Hair Tonic, and are eyeing that Vintage Alarm Clock next!

One of our favorite style bloggers, Blair Eadie, partnered up with BHLDN to showcase 4 wearable wedding guest looks. As usual, they’re totally flawless. We are loving the yellow shift dress and the effortless grey maxi. Which style is your favorite??

Every so often, we find a recipe that makes our hearts stop and our tummies growl. This week, it was Loaded BBQ Potatoes on What’s Gaby Cooking. Truth be told, the bacon/cheese combo is what sold us… mouthwatering!! We will definitely be serving up a batch at our 4th of July BBQ.

Of course, all that cheesy goodness made us a little thirsty. We can’t wait to try this Summer Lemon Rye Cocktail featured on House of Brinson. The rye is perfectly balanced out by the lemon syrup- and an ideal cocktail to sip on the porch as you take a break from the hot sun. Not too tart, not too sweet, but just right!

So not only is today Friday, but it is the first day of summer- hooray!! We are such fans of warmer weather (though don’t forget your sunscreen!!) and all that comes along with it. From weddings to weekend getaways to evening BBQs, summer is basically the best. How will you be spending your summer days? We’d love to hear how you’re enjoying the sunshine- so either leave a comment below OR find us on Twitter/Instagram using #RueDoesSummer. Happy Friday!

Could you share the link for the cover photo? It’d be nice to look through the photo gallery for that event.
