By now we’re sure you are all familiar with Loloi, the incredible Dallas-based, family owned rug resource sweeping the design industry by storm. Their extensive selection of styles, sizes, and colors make them every design lover’s one stop shop for all their floor covering needs. Spend just a few minute browsing their beautiful collections online and we’re sure you’ll agree. So, when Loloi reached out to Rue about an exciting new launch, the Anastasia Collection, and a fun contest we were all ears. We’re pretty sure you’ll want to stick around for this because visual candy galore is here to follow!
The Scoop: Loloi has partnered with eight renowned design bloggers to create eight beautiful rooms, each one featuring a rug from the Anastasia Collection as the dramatic centerpiece. The candidate with the most votes by midnight on October 14th will receive $1000 to donate towards a charity of their choice. Getting involved was a no brainer for us: an opportunity to decorate around one of Loloi’s gorgeous Anastasia rugs, the chance to support a charitable cause, and the thrill of seeing eight different rooms come to life…we instantly knew this was our kind of contest!
Our first order of business was finding a room to overhaul and we didn’t have to look further than our own team here at Rue. Our very own graphic designer, Julie had just the space we were looking for: a home office within her living room with great natural light and lots of potential. Julie has an amazing eye for design and a refined sense of style, but was a bit overwhelmed with the many directions she could take her space so I stepped in to help her identify her style goals for the room. Julie wanted something that felt minimal, clean, and took advantage of the pieces she already owned.
Julie selected the Granite rug from the Anastasia Collection, which was a gorgeous jumping off point for the rest of the space. We loved the warmth it brought to her all-white space, the depth of color speckled throughout and the softness it added to the room. It was the perfect neutral yet dynamic option to build upon. From there, we worked in her existing furniture, like the desk and chest of drawers and incorporated a few new supporting pieces that really helped to finish off the space, like new bar stools, lighting, and art work. But you’ll have to stay tuned for the full scoop on those design details later this week!
