Dee Murphy of Murphy Deesign loves color. So when her friend, Kelly Lee of Kelly GoLightly, asked her to design the “soaking room” of Kelly’s Villa GoLightly for the Christopher Kennedy Compound Modernish Week Show House, she immediately said, “YES!” When Kelly clarified that she wanted the space to be soothing and serene and more neutral than the rest of the house, Dee rolled up her sleeves and made it work.

Knowing Kelly’s love of flamingos, Dee set out to find the perfect flamingo in a neutral print for the room’s walls. She found it with Cole & Sons Flamingo, which she paired with black and white tiles for a look that is full of contrast. Much of the space is centered around an amazing claw foot tub, over which a vintage-looking but new light fixture hangs. A truly luxurious bathroom allows lounging both in and out of the bath, so Dee added a rattan settee with a cozy sheepskin pillow. A few more touches of gold were added thanks to the Kelly Wearstler wall sconces and vintage mirrors. The perfect mix of glamourous, tropical, and totally serene. See it in the slideshow!
