The San Francisco Decorator Showcase is an event we look forward to every year. Not only do we get to peek inside one of San Francisco’s most gorgeous homes, it’s been fully renovated and decorated by some of the area’s top designers. This year’s home is a pre-Earthquake of 1906 beauty. We already shared a look at the top-floor penthouse designed by Catherine Kwong. Today we’re sharing the romantic living room by Jonathan Rachman Design.

Inspired by Audrey Hepburn’s friendship with the couturier Hubert de Givenchy, as captured in the famous photograph taken by Jacques Scandelari, Jonathan and his team reimagined de Givenchy’s own green living for the modern era. Perhaps most noteworthy is the exclusive hand painted and hand embroidered wallpaper ‘Silk Tree’ wallpaper by de Gournay, which gives the feeling of strolling down a tree-lined street in spring time. The design has been hand painted in a custom colorway onto an Emerald Green dyed silk ground. Elements of the design have then been hand embroidered to add depth and dimension. The pink blossoming flowers against the vibrant green hue is an original, bold and beautiful color palette, bringing a fresh and modern twist to a classically inspired design.

The SF Decorator Showcase is open through Memorial Day so if you are in San Francsico, make it a point to see the whole home in person before it closes! And see more of Jonathan’s design in the slideshow.
