Meg Shackleton is the founder and designer behind Margaret Elizabeth — a San Francisco-based jewelry line that’s known for blending natural elements with just the right amount of glam. The brand has since opened a few brick & mortar stores, as well as curated an inspiring blog that shares everything from how to style your jewels to tasty cocktail recipes to Meg’s Ferry Building favorites.

Today, Meg and her team are sharing images from a beautiful beach picnic they recently had at Stinson Beach, one of Northern California’s most beautiful locales. Get inspired in the slideshow, and read on for Meg’s tips for a perfect day at the beach:

  • Make it comfortable: Bring the comforts of home with you to the beach. Here, we grabbed a bunch of fun John Robshaw pillows to add comfort and a dash of color to our bonfire party
  • Keep it simple! When we head to Stinson, we always opt to keep things simple and have tacos at the Siren Canteen, which means less food and drink to pack and more space for s’mores for dessert! We packed the classics- chocolate bars, graham crackers, and marshmallows- all available at your local grocery shop or corner store.
  • Dress Accordingly: In the Bay Area, the beach always cools down at night (even after a 90 degree day!), so some cozy blankets or a warm sweater are a must.
  • Pack Your Accessories: Since we’re a jewelry brand, we never leave home without a stack of bangles!
