Annieglass founder Annie Morhauser was a student at California College of the Arts when she fell in love with glass, eventually creating her own version of an ancient glass forming process called “slumping.” This process involves pouring molten glass over handmade ceramic molds. Some, like her first piece called Roman Antique, even have accents of precious metals. Annie has since created many lines sold in boutiques and major retailers, including Neiman Marcus. A true Californian at heart, Annie has worked to make her factory as sustainable as possible, even creating a new process for recycling glass resulting in the upcoming Elements line. Best of all, Annieglass is made from architectural window glass. So while they look like fancy-occasion, hand-wash-only plates, they actually are use-all-the-time, throw-in-the-dishwasher plates.

Of course, when you do decide to throw a dinner party, Annieglass plates, bowls, and platters are the perfect place to start. Here pieces from the Grove (molded from an actual tree ring!) and Salt collections create a Winter Wonderland table. Since both collections are inspired by nature, we kept the tablescape similarly organic with hand turned wood vases and sprigs of greenery. Blue and green marbled napkins and three shades of taper candles amplify the slight color of the plates. Last, to create a festive mood, we added a little bit of gold. Cheers!
