Here at Rue, we are readers. We have stacks and stacks of design books, of course, but come vacation time or just a night off, we love snuggling under the covers and cracking open a good read. Every time we visit Barnes and Noble to pick up a new book, we end up finding a few extra treats to bring home. Here are some of our favorites:

We’ve already mentioned the importance of a good blanket to maximize reading enjoyment. This soft cable knit is incredibly cozy and will fit in any decor. When taking a break from reading, display your books between whimsical hand bookends. If you’ve switched from paper to e-book, you need a good case to protect your tablet. How about one from Jonathan Adler? Perhaps you prefer your stories read aloud? You can feel good about your choices even if you are listening to trashy romance novels or Top 40s pop with these headphones made of reclaimed wood.

Feeling inspired yourself? To set the scene, light a candle inspired by a Mark Twain quote. Pick up a sketchbook and some colored pencils designed by students from the Pratt Institute of Art to sketch scenes from the Great American Novel you are writing. Or just to record your own favorite quotes from your current read. Any good book recommendations for us?
