Interior designer Brian Paquette has a background in conceptual art and painting, so it’s no surprise his approach to interior design is with an artist’s eye. Brian has long said that interior design shouldn’t be sterile or static, but instead “a living extension of art, meant to be touched, used, and admired.”

His first book, At Home: Evocative & Art-Forward Interiorsis a celebration of this approach. Featuring never-before-published photography by Haris Kenjar, it’s filled with striking visuals and rooms you’ll want to take your time with. However, this book isn’t superficial. Brian is quite candid with his journey as a designer and also shares his inspirations for building a room–from lighting to textiles to fragrance–carefully considering style and budget along the way and resulting in spaces that evoke memories and connection. And, despite the polished aesthetic, comfort is key every step of the way.

Needless to say, design lovers will reference this one again and again. At Home: Evocative & Art-Forward Interiors will be released April 6, 2021 and is available for preorder here.
